Frequently ASKED QUESTIONS
-
It’s up to you, just don’t wear red or velvet. When in doubt, wear something sheer.

My studio is called “Bare Space”. It’s located in DUMBO, Brooklyn at 81 Prospect Street. More Information here.
-
No, of course not. I’ll never ever create an environment that pressures you into something you don’t want to do. For paid Fine Art sessions those do require nudity and are not for models uncomfortable with being unclothed.
-
No, no, and no. Absolutely not.
I am a happily married, family-oriented man. There is no circumstance where I will remove my clothing, and guaranteed I will not make any sexual advances toward you. An no, I do not want to make pornographic images.
While we’re here… I don’t like to be touched either, and I’m definitely not a hugger. Shaking hands is a little gross for me. A fist bump is about all I can live with.
-
No.
Ordinarily my camera records color information that i might use in post. But I never, ever do color. You can ask, it doesn’t annoy me, but the answer will be no.
-
Yes. Generally I share the full shoot culled of any bad images plus my selection. I give the model a chance to add or remove any images from the selection. After that, I edit and deliver high resolution images. The whole process usually takes about two weeks.
For paid fine art sessions, it usually a lot longer of wait before I share images.
-
Yes. You can preview it here.
The images i provide are not to be used for commercial purposes, just as I will not use the images for commercial purposes. I also expect you won’t use my photos in disparaging ways toward anyone, ways that make political statements, or in furtherance of religious causes.
You’re free, in fact I’d be happy for you to use the images in your portfolio, on membership sites, social media, to promote yourself, or to make prints etc.
-
No.
While I respect everyone’s views and beliefs, even (especially) those i disagree with, my art is not about politics or religion.
-
Maybe. Probably. If it’s crucial to your creative process. Random music at an ambient level is important to mine. My taste is all over the map, chances are I like music you like too.
-
You could make me an offer I can’t refuse. But, not likely unless you’re in the inner circle.
-
Please contact me. Otherwise consider all of my work to be non-commercial.
-
I rarely shoot BTS, if I do it’s with your permission only.
I’m happy to shoot BTS footage on your device as well and help you set up a cool shot. My only rule is that you don’t take any pictures of me.
-
I shoot with four cameras: My primary is a Sony A7R IV, I shoot on a Leica Q2 Monochrom, an Instax Twin-Reflex, and a Sony A7 fitted with a pinhole lens.
-
No, unless we have something worked out before hand. Otherwise, you’ll find I have zero patience for such behavior, and I know a lot of creatives around the world.
That being said, not everyone likes every picture of themselves, and I understand that. I’m perfectly open to feedback.

Luckily, I’m a trained retoucher who was once employed by some big time magazines and catalogues. I usually deploy a frequency separation method that yields pleasant skin texture and even tone especially in black and white. Do you have a gnarly scar? Bad pimple? Is there a mole you want me to remove? Did your cat cover your clothes in hair? Let me know if there’s anything specific, but you can expect me to study your past work and go from there. However, my style is very much “What You Show Me is What You Get”. Don’t expect me to take years off your life or retouch to beauty standards of make-up ads etc.
The good news is, our interests align… I want to make as good a picture of you as possible while maintaining my style.
-
You’ll be the first to know when they’re done.
-
In short, let me know as soon as possible.
This is a sore subject with a lot of photographers. While I am generally sympathetic to real life circumstances, you’ll find I’m not sympathetic to irresponsible behavior.
While we’re here… I have no tolerance for people who are unreliable or waste my time.
Some free advice: be reliable. I get it, a lot of models are young, and part of being a young person is being irresponsible and having fun. But you’re primary job as a model is to be reliable. Take it from an old person - the cost of irresponsible behavior is your own opportunity.
One great image can change your life, equally one soiled relationship can destroy your reputation.
Your best bet, be reliable.
